今天，我们着重要了解的知识点是数量中“多少”的英语表达。
平时，说到“多少”，貌似不少朋友脱口而出就是“many”、“much”..而在高考作文里，用到以下这些英语短语，可能会增色不少哦。
一、a good deal of：很多的，大量的【后接不可数名词】
【例句】
She has got a good deal of money.
她拥有大量金钱。
说到这个短语，我们可以将汉语中“俗不可耐”的英语翻译与之联系起来：
There is a good deal of vulgarity.
真是俗不可耐。
二、a great deal of：大量的，许多的【后接不可数名词】
【例句】
It takes a great deal of training and practice and expertise.
这需要大量的训练，实践和专业知识。
三、a good many：很多【后 复数可数名词】
【例句】
I have a good many friends there.
我在那里有很多朋友。
a good many可以和短语a great many结合起来记忆。都是表示“很多”，用法也是一样的。
不过呢，我们需要注意的是，a great many后面是直接加复数可数名词，而a great many of后面需要先跟限定词再加名词。
四、a large quantity of：大量【后接名词复数/不可数名词】
【例句】
There is a large quantity of water in the bedroom.
卧室里有大量的水。
五、a large amount of：大量【后接不可数名词】
【例句】
She has a large amount of cash.
她有大笔现金。
这个短语的反义词，我们可以这样说：
a small amount of：少量的
与此同时，a large amount of可以和短语a great amount of放在一起记忆。两者都是表示“大量”，用来修饰不可数名词。
不过呢，当我们使用“a great amount of 不可数名词”时，其后的谓语需要用单数；如果是“large amounts of 不可数名词”时，其后的谓语需要用复数。
六、a number of：许多的，大量的【后接可数名词复数】
【例句】
A number of people are studying math.
很多人在学习数学。
a number of可以和a great number of、a large number of一起记。都表示“很多”，用来修饰可数名词（复数）。
关于“数量多少”的英语表达，一下子说了这么多，接下来，我们总结下：
1、many、a good many、a number of、a good/great/large number of都是用来修饰可数名词的。
2、much、a good/great deal of、a large amount of都是用来修饰不可数名词的。
3、a lot of、lots of、a（large）quantity of、（large）quantities of即可修饰可数名词，也可修饰不可数名词。
