This slogan, launched in 2019, first targeted residents of Beijing, Tianjin, and surrounding areas, encouraging short weekend getaways to Hebei. In recent years, its catchy appeal has spread across China, even appearing on posters in neighboring provinces like Shanxi and Liaoning.

Now, the Hebei craze is going global.

Tourists from abroad are holding banners in front of landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the deserts of Australia, and the snow-capped peaks of Nepal, proclaiming loudly: “Spend your weekend in Hebei!”

From the Great Wall meeting the sea at Shanhaiguan to the grasslands of Zhangjiakou, Hebei has become a trending destination among international travelers.

During the May Day holiday alone, inbound tourism orders to Hebei rose 69% year-on-year. In Baoding and Shijiazhuang, growth exceeded 70%.
